Juneteenth in the Teen Space – All Day / Drop-in Event at the Library

Saturday, June 19

All Day

The Dobbs Ferry Public Library Teen Space will serve as a place of Juneteenth celebration and reflection.

We will be serving hibiscus iced tea and punch from The Tea Experience, a Black-owned tea shop based in Westchester.* (According to food historians, hibiscus tea — also known as bissap — holds historical significance as a traditional drink of West Africa).

Teens are also invited to quench their thirst for knowledge at this all-day drop-in event. All are encouraged to come pick up bookmarks, pamphlets, and printed poems by famous African-American poets as a means of honoring and learning more about Juneteenth.

*In accordance with the food and beverage policy of the space, visitors will be asked to take their iced tea or punch to go.
