The Met At 150 – lecture via ZOOM (Registration)

Tuesday, October 13

3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

With Sue Altman, art historian

This remote lecture offers a history of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, featuring its architecture, its several expansions over the years, and the many wonderful departments and galleries.  From an Egyptian temple shipped block by block across the ocean; to a Roman bedroom preserved by the ashes of Mt. Vesuvius; to the most expensive (small) painting the museum owns; this lecture takes us on a tour of one of the finest museums in the world.  Ms. Altman will also discuss the Cloisters and new features like the Roof Garden installations.

If you are interested, please send a request for your Zoom invitation to dobref@wlsmail.org – please indicate you are registering for this program in the email.
