Restrictions for gathering have been lifted, so if any of you would like to come, sit and work on your projects, please feel free to stay.

Bring your own projects as we discuss the three projects that the knitters and crocheters have agreed to focus on this year:

  • Our biggest ongoing project is scarves for the “giving trees” on Cedar and Main Streets. Deadline Scarves made throughout the year are tagged, bagged, and attached to the trees during the weekend before Thanksgiving Day). Initially, it proposed to provide scarves to the Dobbs Ferry community. Each year, the committee can discuss and agree on how these scarves can be allocated. Deadline: November 12th
  • The American Legion sponsors Operation Baby Shower. We will provide information about this worthy annual cause and provide the deadline, usually March 1. Drop off will be here at the Library, and we will get them over to the American Legion. www.operationshower.org
  • Project Linus is also a local and national cause for which blankets are made and distributed to area facilities. Before the pandemic, children’s hospitals received many of the blankets. Now they are donated via food banks, and other sources For Linus, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and tying of fleece blankets are all accepted. Blankets will be provided to children from infants to teenagers.

All of the above projects MUST be made of washable materials. Whether you sew, knit, crochet, or fleece blanket borders, it all must be washable and smoke-free.
