Thursday, January 13
4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
This winter, tune in to hear people with cool jobs talk about what they do for a living and how they’ve carved out their unique career paths. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and get useful tips for starting your own business, choosing a major, and more!
January’s presenter is Jessica Galen. Jessica is the owner and chessemonger at Bloomy, a new cheese and specialty food shop in Dobbs Ferry. She has loved cheese from a young age, and assisted in cheese caves and for a raw milk farmstead cheesemaker while in graduate school for Food Studies at NYU. She later managed Lucy’s Whey, then the Upper East Side’s largest artisan cheese shop. Through these roles she developed a deep appreciation for the tireless work of farmers, cheesemakers and affineurs (cheese agers). She has dedicated her career to supporting independent farming, most recently as Director of Communications at Stone Barns Center.
