Theresa Johnson will be speaking at the Dobbs Ferry Public Library on November 22, 2022 at 8:00. Refreshments at 7:30.

The Dobbs Ferry Public Library, in conjunction with Friends of Wickers Creek Archaeological Site (FOWCAS), on Tuesday November 22, 2022 at 8 pm, invites you to hear a very special speaker, Theresa Johnson.  She will be speaking about her explorations as she traced her indigenous Munsee roots which involve a kinship with the Lenape people who lived in a Chieftaincy at Wickers Creek.
Before Henry Hudson sailed up the river that now bears his name, the Dobbs Ferry indigenous people were harvesting oysters and growing crops. The shell midden at Wickers Creek is a legacy of those people as well as of even earlier indigenous persons.
Please join us to meet Theresa Johnson.  You will learn how she found her roots, and have a unique opportunity to interact with someone who is not your typical library speaker.
