The Dobbs Ferry Public Library offers free wireless internet service within the building. You can explore the Internet using your own wireless-enabled laptop computer or other device. Simply start your computer, launch your web browser and your computer's home page will appear.Wireless Network Name: DOBLIBRARY
What you need to connect:
-A WiFi-compliant 802.11b or 802.11g wireless Ethernet device or built-in WiFi capability
(this is the standard on most WiFi capable devices).
-A web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.
We recommended that you also have:
-Headphones if needed
-Up-to-date antivirus software and a personal firewall (STRONGLY recommended).
-A charged battery, as electrical outlets are limited.
Advantages of wireless:
-No waiting for an available PC.
-Download and save files permanently on your computer.
-Work in different areas of the library.
-1 Access Point is available and accommodates up to approximately 50 users simultaneously.
-The Library's network is not secure. Information sent from or to your laptop could be captured by someone else with a wireless device and the appropriate software. Do not access or send sensitive business, financial, or personal information over this wireless open network. The Dobbs Ferry Public Library assumes no responsibility for damage, theft or loss of any kind to a user's equipment, software, data files or other personal property brought into or used at the library.

-Users must agree to our End User Agreement (EUA) which requires compliance with all applicable laws. This includes, but is not limited to, infringement of third-party copyrights or any other intellectual property rights. Users are discouraged from using BitTorrent applications. If any user is found in violation of the EUA his or her computer privileges may be curtailed.
-The connection may not be used for any illegal or commercial activities.
-If an inappropriate or offensive image or text appears on your workstation, and it is visible to other patrons, you will be asked to remove it.
-The library cannot guarantee that service will be available at any specific time. Signal strength may be affected by bandwidth use by other users.
-The library provides unrestricted access and does not monitor or control content. The library is not responsible for your activity and strongly encourages you to respect copyright laws in your use of the Internet.
