ENTER THE TEEN WRITING CONTEST
- The Dobbs Ferry Public Library will have an online summer reading game for teens
and adults accessible online through our web site. Readers may wish to keep the
theme of change in mind as they read this summer. There will be a creative writing
contest as well in which people are encouraged to write about what happens when
change happens to you or to people around you.
- What happens when you change your mind, your diet, your political or religious affiliation.
- Have you ever changed your mind about something and it came as a surprise to you and your family?
- Have you ever changed your diet and became vegetarian? What was that like? How did your family react?
- Have you ever moved and had to change schools? What was that experience like?
- Have you ever come back from summer vacation only to find your friends are different?
- Use these questions to get your creative juices flowing. Maybe you can imagine a situation
and make up a short story. Or you can write an essay using your own life experiences. Send your essays to the
library as an attachment to an email to: dob@wlsmail.org
or drop them off at the reference desk. You could win a
first, second or third prize!
